Kay Pfleghardt, CFP® creates space for meaningful conversations by inviting every voice in a family to the table, especially those often overlooked in traditional financial discussions. With care and curiosity, she helps her clients see financial planning as a tool for empowerment, clarity, and human connection.
Clients can expect a highly personalized and proactive experience, meeting regularly to ensure their financial plan truly aligns with their life and values.
In 2021, Kay’s father passed away after a long illness. It was a deeply personal experience that gave her greater empathy and insight into the emotional side of life transitions. She brings this perspective to her work, offering guidance that is both practical and compassionate.
Kay holds a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning and an Associate’s degree in Accounting from SUNY Alfred. By age 23, she had earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation, and she is also a CERTIFIED BUSINESS EXIT CONSULTANT®. She’s been helping clients manage and grow their wealth since she was 21.
Outside the office, Kay is committed to her profession and her community. She currently serves as:
- President of the Financial Planning Association of Rochester, NY
- Board Member, EquiCenter
- Board Member, Alfred State Alumni Board
- Member, Estate Planning Council of Rochester, NY
- Member, Greater Rochester Area Partnership for the Elderly (GRAPE)
- Former Finance Committee Member, Association of Child Life Professionals (2021–2023)
Kay is a proud Hall of Fame volleyball player at her alma mater, where she still holds several career records. These days, she stays active through CrossFit, beach volleyball, biking, and paddleboarding. She's currently working on improving her golf swing. When the weather’s right, you’ll find her hiking the Adirondacks or exploring trails across Upstate New York.
